Chuck Staley: Chairman
Chuck Staley has lived in the Antelope Valley since he moved here with his family when he was in the second grade. He attended college at UC Santa Barbara, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and six years later he received a Master's of Science from California State University, Fresno. He worked for 34 years as an engineer at Edwards Air Force Base prior to his retirement in 2022. Although Chuck was raised in a Christian home and attended church nearly every week, it wasn't until a few years after college that he fully committed his life to Christ. He has preached through Paul's letters to the Ephesians and to the Philippians. He is now preaching through James and, occasionally, through selected Psalms (click here to listen). He and his wife, Gina, were married in 1988 and have five children.
Bryan Murphy: Pastor/Teacher
Bryan Murphy is the Pastor/Teacher of Roosevelt Community Church in Lancaster California. This is a ministry position that he has fulfilled since May 2000. He has a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Temple Baptist College, and has three earned degrees from The Master's Seminaryincluding a Master's of Divinity, a Master's of Theology, and a Doctorate in Theology under Dr. William Barrick. He has been a professor at The Master's Seminary since 2008 teaching original languages and exegesis in both the OT and NT departments. He teaches periodically overseas and here in the United States as a guest preacher (click here to listen), guest lecturer, or conference speaker. Bryan lives in Lancaster with his wife Katherine and they have two adult children, Liam and Madelyn.
Dan Barnes: Secretary/Treasurer
Dan Barnes has been a member of Roosevelt Community Church since 1987, when he and his wife, Julie, moved to the Antelope Valley. It was his great joy to serve on the elder board from 1996 through 2015. Dan is a graduate of The Master’s Universityand teaches first grade at Esperanza Elementary in Palmdale. Julie and Dan enjoy visiting their three grown children and playing with their four grandchildren.
Albert Winbush
Albert has been a member of Roosevelt Community Church since 1988, when he and his wife moved from Los Angeles to Lancaster. He recently retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 28 years of service. He enjoys spending time with his four adult children and three grandchildren. He enjoys reading from a wide variety of genres, is a lifelong learner, and loves to travel. But above all of this, his great desire is to serve God in a way that is pleasing to Him, loving others, being a faithful witness to the gospel, and waiting for the joyous return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
